President Barack Obama recently called for new gun laws and signed 23 executive orders related to gun violence.
Among Obama’s executive orders is a directive for the U. Centers for Disease Control to study gun violence and the best ways to reduce it.
“Ending DACA protections threatens to undermine this commitment for the many young people who have worked very hard to be here and have so much to offer the common good.” In 2013, there were about 17,000 DACA applicants in North Carolina, according to the Brookings Institute.
Data from the Department of Homeland Security shows that there have been roughly 27,000 DACA applications approved in North Carolina from the inception of the program through late 2016.
