I hope you find this blog to be as helpful to you in reading it as is to me in writing it.Right or wrong, Jehovah's Witnesses are expected to obey all the rules.I’m sure I’m opening myself up to a lot of anonymous verbal abuse but hey, that’s the price I pay for shooting straight about cult abuse and putting it out there for anyone to see and comment on!Thanks to all of you wonderful human beings who have commented in spite of my failure to open that up until now!The last thing a Jehovah's Witness wants to do is get in trouble with the organization or be called in for a 'judicial committee hearing'.
The rules were compiled by former Jehovah's Witnesses who were happy to live by these rules when they were active in the organization.
That decision cost me members of my family, my friends, my reputation, and in some respects, my identity. Today I'm a happy, productive, and highly fulfilled person.
The purpose of this blog is to help others who are experiencing strained or broken relationships, self destructive behavior, addictions, depression, and low self esteem as a direct result of involvement in destructive mind control cults.
If you would like to have Doug speak at your church, meetup or other event you can contact him here. I was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses for twenty-three years of my life.
I finally realized that they didn't have "the truth" and I left the organization.
