We plan on having the following meetups: Family Support Groups - only for families, we share our challenges, exchange ideas on what worked, help and support one another through difficult phases.
Informational Support Groups - families and professionals discuss a topic such as the IEP process, obtain information, ask specific questions about procedures, resources, etc.
This group of families and professionals enjoy spending time with children in the spectrum, see them as unique individuals, help them learn and make progress, and have a positive outlook.
We do not grudge another child's abilities, we believe that every child has been put on this earth for a purpose - to bring joy into someone's life.
This is a group of people who love their children dearly, right here, right now, unconditionally.
Payments are made fortnightly and the rate varies depending on your individual assessment.
This is an annual lump-sum payment to assist carers with the costs of caring for a person with a disability.
This is a Centrelink payment for carers who provide additional daily care and attention for someone with a disability It is not means tested and is paid every two weeks. It is a good idea to apply for Carer Allowance as soon as you have decided to seek an assessment, so long as you are providing daily care for your child.
The payment starts from the date the form is lodged not from the date of assessment.
